This 46-48 Ford USB charger is designed to be hidden in the ashtray. Charge your phone without having to compromise the classic look of your dash. Simple to install with the supplied screw through the cigarette stubber. Then one hole to drill for the wire to exit. Finally connect to power and ground. Works with both 6V and 12V systems.
If your vehicle still uses the positive ground system connect the red wire to the chassis and black wire to a negative circuit. The negative wire from the fule pump switch is a good spot.
Should fit 42 Fords too.

I was looking for a USB port that would work on 6V, to power the GPS when driving my stock 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe. In my searches, I found Classic Chargers, but there was no listing for my vehicle. I sent an email query to the company, and Phil responded that they didn’t make a unit for the ’46, but could supply one if I sent accurate measurements and pictures of the ashtray. After a few emails to confirm details, the bespoke unit was built and shipped to me. The install was easy, with only one hole to drill in the bottom of the ashtray to fit the supplied grommet and pass the wires through. The pictures in the listing are of my ’46 dash.
